Pantanal – in the top 5 for animal safaris

In the survey, it was only beaten by the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon, and Costa Rica.

The Pantanal is located in the heart of South America in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, but parts of the area also lies in neighboring Paraguay and Bolivia. It covers an area that is more or less the same size as the state of Montana. This inland wetland impresses with its biological diversity which certainly makes it a true natural paradise, especially for plant and animal lovers.

The many attractions the Pantanal has to offer were emphasized after the conclusion of the survey, including the different ecosystems in the region, the dense concentration of wildlife, and the great diversity of animal species.
