Due to Manaus‘s proximity to the equator, the climate is tropically humid and hot with temperatures that do not vary significantly. The year is therefore divided into dry and rainy seasons. Particularly, during the rainy season there is quite a lot of precipitation, which is why you will experience hot temperatures and humid weather throughout the year.

The dry season lasts from June to November and has low precipitation rates of 50 mm to 170 mm (2 in to 6.7 in). During these months you can enjoy an average of 4 to 7 hours of daily sunlight in Manaus. The weather is consistently hot throughout with daily high temperatures averaging at 31 °C to 33 °C (88 °F to 91 °F). On the days when it gets a little cooler, the lowest temperatures during the day are between 23 °C and 24 °C (73 °F to 75 °F).
During the rainy season from December to May, Manaus and the rainforest receive a lot of precipitation. Between 220 mm and 320 mm (8.7 in to 12.6 in) of rainfall are expected per month. Similar to the dry season, temperatures are very high and reach an average of 32 °C (90 °F) during the day. In cooler weather, temperatures are still high with an average of 23 °C to 24 °C (73 °F to 75 °F). During the rainy season you will experience only 3 to 4 of daily sunlight.
Best Time to Visit Manaus
In general, Manaus is an attractive tourist destination year round. Besides sightseeing, the city is usually a starting point for excursions in the Amazon rainforest. This package is for adventurous travelers who will be taking part in all activities. The adventure will begin at the Amazon Turtle Lodge in a motorized canoe with your English-speaking guide. During the survival tour you will bring some food along and have to build your own shelter using wood, twigs, and straw. The activities take place in a region that has an ecosystem of lowlands (varzea), highlands (terra firme), flooded forest (igapo), and small channels (igarapes) that are perfect for paddling in canoes and observing wildlife.
