Itinerary
Day 1: Heading into the Rainforest
Included: Transfer with a Stop at the "Meeting of the Waters" (in-group, 3h) | Canoeing, Caiman Spotting (in-group) | Lunch, Dinner
Your trip to the Juma Amazon Lodge starts early in the morning from your hotel in Manaus. During the journey to the lodge, which will be done by both land and boat transfers, you will be able to observe the confluence of the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimoes and, depending on the season, the large water lilies.
After a welcome drink and lunch at the lodge, the first excursion will take place. Together with your English-speaking guide and other guests, you will set off with canoes to explore rivers and flooded forest areas. Hopefully you will be able to see some pink dolphins.
At night you will enjoy a delicious dinner before returning to the jungle to spot caimans.

Day 2: Jungle Hike and Piranha Fishing

Today you will have an early start to see the beautiful sunrise over the Amazon, which is also a perfect time for bird watching.
After breakfast, with lots of tropical fruits and typical regional food, another great trip will set off. On a walk through the Rainforest, your guide will give you lots of explanations about the local fauna and the use of plants as food and medicine. If you are lucky, you can also observe animals such as sloths, exotic birds, and monkeys in their natural habitat.
When you return to the lodge, lunch will be waiting for you. In the afternoon you will try your luck fishing for piranhas which can be served for dinner later today.
At night one of the local guides will give a very informal lecture about daily life in the Amazon, including customs and traditions of the local people.

Day 3: Return to Manaus
Included: Transfer (in-group, 3h) | Breakfast
After breakfast it will be time to depart from the Rainforest. On the return trip to Manaus, the transfer will pass a place where the pirarucu fish can be observed. This fish, also known as arapaima, can reach up to 9.8 feet (3 meters) and 440 lbs (200 kg). Afterward, the transfer continues to your hotel in Manaus or the airport where you will arrive around noon.

Info
- All excursions and transfers will be done in small groups with other guests. The limit for baggage is 22 lbs (10 kg) per person. Excess baggage can be deposited in Manaus at the lodge's office or your hotel.
- Additional lodge visitors can join the day trips and the transfers to / from Juma Amazon Lodge. However, this does not have to be the case.
- The itinerary can be adjusted according to weather conditions. The order of excursions can change and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
