Experience the fascinating flora and fauna of the Amazon region on this expedition cruise in a small English-speaking group (maximum 10 participants). We guarantee the tour will run once we have bookings for a minimum of 2 participants. On this tour of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, you will be accommodated for 4 days on a typical Amazonas boat and enjoy various excursions on the river and in the rainforest with an experienced English-speaking guide. On all the excursions, one of the highlights is wildlife observation. It is likely that you will see monkeys and pink dolphins, and you may even be able to spot a sloth or a family of otters.
Itinerary
Day 1: River Cruise Begins
Included: Transfer (in-group) | Visit to a Floating Village, Walking Tour Januarilandia Park (in-group) | Lunch, Dinner
In the morning, your guide will collect you and any other participants from your hotels or the airport in Manaus. Your cruise will then begin by sailing down-river to see the impressive meeting of Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes. After a short visit to a floating village, you will go to Janauarilandia Park and walk on a raised platform for the best view of the giant water lilies. Back on board, lunch will be served at around 12:30 p.m. After lunch, you will go on a motorboat excursion through the Igarape, an annually flooded forest. Later, the expedition boat will sail from Janauarilandia to Jacareubal, and you will enjoy dinner on board.

Day 2: Welcome to the Rainforest
Included: Nature Hike, Piranha Fishing and Sunset Tour, Jungle Night (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Early in the morning, the boat will depart towards the Arara river. After a tasty breakfast on board, you will go hiking in the rainforest accompanied by your English-speaking guide and a local member of the Arara community. During the trek, your guides will inform you about the natural environment of the area. Later, you will eat lunch on board and have the opportunity to swim in the river. In the late afternoon, you will be back on the river in a small boat to try your luck fishing for the famous piranhas. During this trip, you should also be able to enjoy the sunset on the water. Later, dinner will be served on a beach, and you will have the chance to sleep in a hammock in a jungle camp, weather permitting.

Day 3: Pink Dolphin Spotting
Included: Sunrise Tour, Dolphin Spotting, Boat Tour (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Before breakfast, you will go out in a canoe to watch the sunrise and, with luck, see the tropical birds emerging from the forest. After breakfast on board, you will then visit a spot where you have a great chance of seeing river dolphins up close. After lunch, you will go on another boat excursion to explore the surroundings further. Dinner will be served on a beach, weather permitting.

Day 4: Back to Manaus

On the last day of the expedition, you will start off with breakfast and then go on a jungle trek. Later, you will enjoy lunch and visit a native village to learn about life in the Amazon. Then it will be time to return to Manaus. You will arrive at around 5:00 p.m., and a transfer will take you to your hotel or to the airport.

- Your expedition cruise starts at your chosen date. We guarantee every departure with the first booking of a double cabin.
- The maximum number of passengers on every expedition cruise is 10 guests.
- The electricity on board, which is also needed for the air conditioning in the cabins, is produced by a generator. This generator is located below deck and can also be heard in the cabins.
- The Amazon region can be visited all year round. However, it should be noted that the water level between October and December can be so low that the smaller side arms of the rivers cannot be navigated.
- The itinerary can be adjusted according to weather conditions. The order of excursions can change and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed.
- The ceiling height of both ships is about 5.9 feet (1.80 meters).
