At about 8:00 a.m., you will meet your English-speaking guide at the airport or at your hotel in Manaus and depart to Amazon Turtle Lodge.

During the journey, you will pass the beginning of the Rio Amazonas, which is formed from the Rio Negro and the Rio Solimoes. It is really impressive to see how two rivers run side by side for many miles without mixing. You also might be greeted by curious dolphins along the way. After a change from land to water you will reach Turtle Lodge before midday. You will have some time to get familiar with the lodge before lunch is served at the lodge's restaurant.

After lunch you will go on a motorized canoe ride to get to know the surroundings. During this trip, besides impressive landscapes you might also see various animals such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, spiders, and birds.

You will begin the day early in the morning at around 5:30 a.m. with a sunrise bird watching excursion. It will be a great chance to be impressed by the awakening Amazon fauna. After breakfast you will go on an exciting jungle tour to learn about Amazon biodiversity. Your guide will show you some techniques on how to survive in the jungle.

After lunch at the lodge, get ready for another adventure. You will go canoeing to observe birds and other animals. If you are lucky you will see otters, monkeys, or a sloth hanging in the branches. Later, dinner will be served at the lodge. Afterwards there will be free time to listen to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy the moonlight.

After breakfast you will leave the lodge with your English-speaking guide to visit a local’s home and learn about their way of life in the Amazon. You will get to know their culture, customs, and traditions. On the way back to the lodge you will visit a cassava and rubber plantation. Some of the locals will show you how they collect vegetables, fruits, nuts, and spices.

After lunch at the lodge's restaurant you will go back on the river to catch the famous piranha. This excursion is amusing even for beginners and also a great opportunity to enjoy the landscape. In the evening, after dinner, you will go on a very exciting night excursion to observe caimans. Everybody will try and spot one. Guides will then catch one with their bare hands for memorable pictures. At the end, the caiman will be released back into the wild unharmed.

After breakfast you will set out once again in a motorized canoe. We will cross flooded areas (igapos) and travel through small channels (igarapes) to find and observe pink dolphins. On the way back to the lodge you will visit an Caboclo village to learn more about the people who live in and with the Amazon Rainforest. After lunch you will return to Manaus.
