On this 5-day trip you will experience the unique terrain of the Amazon Rainforest during your stay in the luxurious Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge. On different excursions you will get to know the flora and fauna and the life of indigenous peoples of the Amazon. With a little bit of luck you will also be able to observe dolphins, caimans, sloths, monkeys, and a great variety of birds.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival to the Amazon
Included: Transfer (in-group, 3h) | Canoe Tour, Nocturnal Sightseeing | Lunch, Dinner
The lodge transfer will pick you up at around 8:00 a.m. from your hotel in Manaus or from the airport. On the 3-hour drive you will cross a 2.2-mile (3.6 kilometers) long bridge over the Rio Negro.
Upon arrival at the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge, you will meet your English-speaking guide who will give you a brief overview about the lodge and your itinerary.
After a delicious lunch, your guide will take you on a canoe trip through the channels of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Hopefully you will be able to spot some wildlife, but surely you will get a great first impression of the mighty Amazon Rainforest.
Later you will enjoy dinner followed by a night safari to spot nocturnal animals, particularly caimans as they hide themselves in the bank slope.

Day 2: Rainforest Hike and Piranha Fishing
Included: Nature Hike, Piranha Fishing (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today your guide will take you on an interesting nature hike. You will learn about the local flora and fauna and your guide will also show you some techniques to survive in the wild.
After lunch you will go on the river to fish for piranhas. While in the boat you might also have the chance to spot some wildlife on the riverbanks.

Day 3: Special Early Rise
Included: Sunrise Tour, Visit to a Local Community, Dolphin Spotting (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
A day full of new experiences is waiting for you today.
Early in the morning you will see the awaking of the Amazon and witness the amazing sunrise. Then, after breakfast you will visit a local community where you will gain interesting insight into the life of the native people. Later on in the afternoon you will be taken on a boat expedition through the Anavilhanas Archipelago to find, observe, and photograph gray and pink dolphins.

Day 4: Boat Tour Through the Archipelago
Included: Full-day Tour through the Archipelago (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today a special adventure awaits you. On a small boat, local along the Amazon river, you will embark on a full-day sailing trip deep into the Anavilhanas Archipelago. During this trip into the heart of the national park you can hopefully observe wildlife and get a better understanding of the extension of the Amazon Rainforest.

Day 5: Tranquil Morning and Departure
Included: Traditional Archery Practice (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch
A relaxed morning awaits you on your last day. After an unhurried breakfast your guide will go with you into the forest to a spot where archery targets will be set up. You can try your luck with a bow and arrow. To this day the indigenous tribes still hunt in this fashion. Following this fun activity, you can enjoy the amenities of the lodge and a delicious lunch at midday. In the afternoon the lodge transfer will bring you back to Manaus.

Transportation from Manaus to the lodge can be done by:
