During this 4-day trip to Bonito you will experience this natural paradise at its finest. You will snorkel in crystal clear rivers embedded into a wonderful landscape, visit a subterranean blue lagoon inside a cave, and go on a nature hike to observe the beautiful red macaw. Through the whole trip you will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide who is specialized in this area of Brazil.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival to Campo Grande and Transfer to Bonito
Included: Airport Transfer (private, 4h)
Your English-speaking guide will meet you at the Campo Grande airport upon arrival. After the friendly reception, you will get in a private vehicle for the approximately 4-hour drive to Bonito. During the journey, your guide will give you information about the following days and tips for your stay in Bonito. After checking in at your cozy pousada you will be free to enjoy the tropical garden with a generous pool or explore the tranquil city, which is known as a Mecca for eco-tourism.
Overnight: Pousada Surucua, Standard room
Day 2: Snorkeling in the Rio da Prata and Macaw Observation
Included: Snorkeling Tour and Bird Watching (in-group) | Breakfast, Lunch
After breakfast you will be picked up by your English-speaking guide and taken to Rio da Prata where the first excursion will take place. On site you will be equipped with snorkeling equipment and a wetsuit. The tour then takes you along the riverbank where you can admire the numerous native trees and plants. With luck you may be able to spot mammals such as monkeys or anteaters. After a short introduction, you will drift down the river in clear water for about 1.25 miles (2 kilometers) where you can admire the countless shimmering fishes. After this fascinating experience, you will enjoy a delicious lunch with local specialties.
You will then continue to the protected area of Buraco das Araras. This sinkhole, one of the largest in South America, is home to over 120 red macaws during the mating season. In total, over 150 other bird species have been spotted here. During a nature hike, you will try to find and photograph as many of them as possible. After this adventurous day, your guide will bring you back to your pousada in Bonito.

Day 3: Cave Trip and River Snorkeling
Included: Cave Trip and Snorkeling Tour (in-group) | Breakfast
In the morning, during the best lighting conditions, you will be picked up by your guide to visit the Blue Lagoon cave, one of the few with proper infrastructure for visitors. Be amazed by the play of colors between the dark cave, the entering sun light, and the blue water.
Afterwards you will continue to Estancia Rio Sucuri, where you have the opportunity to snorkel in another crystal clear river which is characterized by its abundance of fish and the paradise-like landscape.

Day 4: Return to Campo Grande or Continue to the Pantanal

Today you will pack your bags and say goodbye. According to your flight itinerary, a Portuguese-speaking driver will pick you up and take you to Campo Grande.
