Itinerary
The capital of Brazil was inaugurated by President Jucelino Kubitschek (JK) on the 21th April 1960 after only 1000 days of construction. During many years the President had the vision of a modern capital in the middle of the country, that would represent the modernization of the country. The former capital Rio de Janeiro still was a symbol for the colonial past and did not represent the golden future, that JK planned for his country. In 1987 Brasilia was declared modern World Heritage by the UNESCO. The shape and the buildings designed by Oscar Niemeyer brings the visitor back in time to the utopian futuristic visions of the 1950s. You will pass many buildings and monuments during the tour, as the church Nossa Senhora de Fatima, the João Bosco Monument, the TV Tower, the Military Sector, the JK Memorial (not included), the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Ministries Boulevard, the Palace of the Foreign Ministry, the Lucio Costa Cultural Space, the Jaburu Palace (Palace of the Vice President), the Alvorada Palace (Palace of the President), the JK Bridge and the embassy district.
