Jericoacoara is the perfect starting point for excursions to the surrounding dunes of the same name. The National Park offers beautiful shifting sand dunes and freshwater lagoons, which can be explored during a buggy tour. The airport in Fortaleza offers direct flights to the U.S. and Europe Germany. The distance is about 190 miles (300 kilometers). Jericoacoara also offers a smaller national airport, which can be reached from the main cities in Brazil.
