Pousada Jurara is located in the small fishing village of Atins, on the eastern tip of the Lencois Maranhenses National Park, in the state of Maranhao, and is the starting point for boat trips on the sea and the mouth of the Rio Preguicas. The charming accommodation, typical of the country, is located in a developed and completely renovated house of a former fisherman and is located not far from the river bank on the sandy main street of the village.

Location
The small village is visited by many visitors of the Lencois Maranhenses by boat after a tour in Barreirinhas and offers the possibility to relax on white beaches and to walk through the dunes. The beach of the village is actually a riverside. In this shallow water, kite surfers find optimal conditions to pursue their passion. The other bank of the river is just a narrow sandy tongue that separates the river from the sea, and where you can also go by boat. The Lencois Maranhenses are a unique dune landscape and the only desert area in Brazil. Depending on the season, countless small lagoons form, which invite you to swim and hike.

The accommodation is equipped with 13 rooms and can accommodate up to 35 guests. Wi-Fi is only available in the common areas.
Please note that Pousada Vila Jurara, which belongs to the Pousada Jurara, is located next door. Breakfast is taken together at the main building of the Pousada Jurara. The 330 feet (100 meters) distance between the two guesthouses of the Jurara is usually covered on foot, using the normal street of the village. The special experience of a visit to Atins is that this street, like the Lencois Maranhenses themselves, is a sand road.
